From intern to founder.
Kobe Brummitt started in the technology department at Hawkins County Schools — an internship taken while he was still at Volunteer High School, which became a full-time job the day he graduated, and then the district’s cybersecurity work: its accounts, its network, and its Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace tenants.
From there he became a cybersecurity engineer for a managed service provider serving K-12 districts, building out its SIEM, its phishing campaign platform and its vulnerability scanning platform.
That’s where the K-12 programs come from, and it’s the same work businesses need: systems that keep running, attacks caught early, and someone accountable when something goes wrong. Blue Ridge opened in April 2024 to do it for businesses here, and today serves clients on site across the Tri-Cities and remotely in other states.
